Being Independent, Do We Really Love It?

by Star on January 20, 2010

Many ladies will get up and sing the hell out of a Beyonce song.  Diva, I’m a Survivor, Independent Women, Bills, Bills, Bills, and we lose our minds waving our left hand up on Single Ladies. We tilt our head just like Bey in the video too don’t we? It feels good to know that we worked hard and we have the accolades to show for, but what do those accolades truly mean when you don’t have no one to share it with?

Each day each day I play the role
Of someone always in control
But at night I come home and turn the key
There’s nobody there, no one cares for me
Oh what’s the sense of trying hard to find your dreams
Without someone to share it with
Tell me what does it mean- Run to You  Whitney Houston

If I hear one more statistic on the lack of good men especially in Atlanta I’m gonna scream. Yada, yada, yada leave it up to statistics I’m gonna be alone for the rest of my life.

Anyway do we really love being independent? Do we really love the title of being a strong woman?
